Driving into work today, I noticed the fog hanging later into the morning on the Hollywood Hills. I wish they could have stayed longer, if only to add to a spooky feel for Halloween. The boss is on a business trip until Thursday night this week, so I'm at the office and more or less staying put. Hopefully the week will feel short, since I didn't get a whole lot of free time over the weekend. Helping people move and wiring the new house for internet is not exactly my definition of relaxation.

While there has been stuff I could mention on the blog, I've really just been too tired to talk about it. My Saturdays have been keeping me busy this month, so my only day to relax remains Sunday. Work doesn't tire me out so much as the long drives to and from work do. At work, I've had to deal with a few unusual tasks already, but I think I'm keeping up with the job. And my boss is now out of town until next Thursday, so hopefully things will calm down around the office for a bit.

So work's going alright. I'm still trying to get into the groove of things and getting used to my boss' style of management. But the bigger news is that I've been offered the Yojoe.com website to lead. It's the only paid position, and I could use the cash to help with the Japan trip. If I were offered this job any earlier, I would have jumped at it. Now, though, I'm a tad hesitant with the new job to get used to. I'll probably still accept the position, though....

This past week has been a big reminder on why I hated the last few months of my third year in college. There's nobody around! The parents aren't back until tomorrow night, Roger's at home until he has another project at work, and the dog's at my grandparents' house! I'm incredibly bored, it's far too quiet, and I'm beginning to miss not having any company around.

Finished my first day at the new job today. Interesting looking at the differences between my old place and the new one. Still haven't got quite the hang of what I'll be doing now, but I'm sure I'll be able to get it in time. But before that I stayed up most of the night reading and writing on one of the projects they hope to do. So, if you don't mind, I'm gonna go to sleep now!

So I came within an inch of dying just now. There's not much to the story but the punchline is that there was a black widow in the mailbox. My hand came within a centimeter of it!

Anyways, I planned to drive back home last night, but I got a call for an interview today at 11. Even after locking myself out of the car at a malfunctioning parking meter, I managed not to screw up too much during the next two and a half hours. I got a job. It may not necessarily be the one I applied for, but I got a job.

Once again, I wish a Happy Birthday to Mike!

Tok care of the last of the parent's assignments for me today. Mailed off a few things, did some bank transactions, and tried to send off some wine with UPS. We tried on friday to no luck, but apparently even the regional center couldn't take it. After a quick chat with dad, he decided to wait until he got back to deal with it. So for me, it's out of sight, out of mind!

Hit up Disneyland for a few hours yesterday to check out all the nifty Halloween decorations and ride the converted Haunted Mansion. Today, though, I just spent way too much on an oil change, hand dinner at my aunt's house where I dropped off Brit, and played a few hours of video games at Nammy's.
