Looks like my AX department finally has enough staff! Woooooooo! I'm still missing an assistant manager (my old position), and I kinda doubt that'll get filled any time soon. But at least I have editors! I wasn't worried about not having grips/production assistants, since I could always fill in for our missing spot. I was concerned with not having a second editor. True, I could do it, but adding that onto my current responsibilities probably would have meant I never would have gotten to leave our room at con.

Since all my normal manga and anime titles have nothing new out at the moment, I've been delving into picking up some Appleseed stuff. I blame this squarely on AX - showing Ex Machina in the office several times while I was present. Anyways, I drove to the Montebello Toys R Us today looking for some Joes, found none, and decided to check out the nearby mall. Low and behold, I end up picking up the other two Appleseed movies I was looking for. Something of a miracle, as the 2004 version seems to be impossible to find now, for some reason.

On Monday I went to Culver City and did a six hour video shoot for AX. sounds like a long time for what will probably only be a 5 minute piece, but lemme tell ya, it was so worth it. We were shooting inside of a maid cafe! How cool is that? Oh, and the visuals weren't too bad, either! Since we needed enough people to fill out the crowds, there was a bunch of other staffers at hand as well. After the shoot, it really became a day of hanging out and having fun - lunch, frozen yogurt, karoake, lotsa good stuff.

My Anime Expo work is starting to get pretty busy. I'm saying goodbye to my weekends right now as each day seems to fill with a new assignment. It's scary and kinda fun at the same time. Check back with me in a month to see if I still have the same opinion on that.

So in the end, I did have to reformat my hard drive. I've spent most of the day reinstalling everything under the sun, but it looks like I'm nearly done! Just one more program to sort out, and I should be back to my old setup. Just with, y'know, better hardware. At least, I hope so. That was kind of the point of this whole upgrade thing!
