Russell's now started watching Battlestar Galactica, even though it's over now! I lent him my dvds weeks ago, but he only started watching the mini-series now. He seemed to enjoy it, though, so there's a sign of progress. Let's just hope he can sit through four seasons!

Michael was supposed to fly into Alaska yesterday to work at a hospital there for a month. He flight was delayed a day because of bad weather at his stop-over site. Now he's at the stop-over, and his flight into Alaska has been canceled. How often can you say your flight was delayed because of a volcano?

Dammit people, it's been 19 years! Why do I still tear up when watching Jim Henson's memorial service??

Also, "The Rainbow Connection."

Damn muppets.

Best frakkin' series.

So say we all.

I've been stuck at the Orange County home all week as the parents use my car. Mom's car is undergoing repairs, and it's been taking longer than they thought. Fortunately I should be getting my car back tomorrow. I just have to drive mom into work. Not a problem, but the drive back is more than likely going to be terrible.

Over the weekend, I was directed to a website that shows how to make a cheap steadycam. Intrigued by the idea, especially since I've always kind of wanted a steadycam, I decided to follow the plans and make one myself. It didn't take long to put it into effect, since I bought the parts (more expensive than the quote on the website, but still cheaper than purchasing the kit), and assembled one tonight. I'm still getting used to the thing, so it may be a little while before it works perfectly. I've got something now, though!

The nerd in me notes that I should acknowledge Pi Day at some point here, so I figured now was as good a time as any. Of course, if I wanted to be even nerdier I should have done this at 1:59. Be glad I didn't. No one likes math jokes that get stretched out. It's not right... triangle. Okay, that was uncalled for, I admit.

I'm at the AX Manager's Retreat for all of this weekend. This year it's at the American Jewish University, which is not a location I would have thought of to hold this particular event. Should be interesting. Perhaps not, if last year's retreat was any indication. The next two days should be heavy with boredom. At least there's a group Watchmen viewing Saturday night!
