Digging Up the Past

Talking with a friend about our mutual love of Ghostbusters over the weekend reminded me that there were live shows at Universal Studios Florida.  I even got to see two different ones on my two different visits.  The best one was by far the stage show, the Ghostbusters Spooktacular, I saw in 1994.  I was glad to see there are videos of it up on Youtube.  We only had still cameras to work with, but I do still have the brochure!

Ghostbusters Spooktacular

Ghostbusted

My brain is stuck in Ghostbustersland again.  I went to a panel at Comic Con about IDW’s Ghostbusters comic and the upcoming game from Cryptozoic.  It was just something I went to to pass the time and rest the feet.  I left the panel and went immediately downstairs to IDW’s booth in the exhibit hall and picked up two hardcover collections of their comics.  Now I’m picking up trades that collect the stories I don’t already have.  Awfully hard to concentrate on Joe at the moment!

I think you better call

I’ve been on a Ghostbusters kick this week, and I wanted to see if anyone had edited the 2009 video game into a watchable film. 30 seconds of searching showed me it was on youtube in 720p, and only two parts!  I downloaded the mp4 files, loaded them up an a USB thumb drive, and it’s been tonight’s entertainment.  I just popped the thumb drive into the blu-ray player, read the video file off of there, and watched it on the big screen!  We may not have a Ghostbusters 3 yet, but this is pretty damn close!

Happy Halloween!

Hope everyone had a fun time tonight!  I stayed at home and handed out candy to the trick-or-treaters.  Okay, so I’m not exactly the partying type.  I did set up my laptop to play some Halloween-centric tunes through some speakers I set up outside the front door.  Added to the atmosphere, I like to think.  The candy dispensing has ended for the night, so now I’m watching Ghostbusters!

Video Games!

Though we’ve had a Wii since Christmas, I hadn’t bought any games for it until recently.  Going to a Big Lots and seeing a few games I was interested in at very low prices made it an easy choice.  I’ve since gone to a GameStop and picked up the Wii version of Ghostbusters.  Though I had the PC version, the Wii is the only one with co-op multiplayer, the artwork is different, and the gameplay is slightly changed up.  Kind of interesting seeing what’s new, what’s gone, and how my roommates react to the story.  They both seem to like it so far, so I think I made the right choice!
