My aunt got some tickets to the Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring at the Honda Center on Saturday night. She had some extras, so she graciously invited me and my girlfriend to come along. And I am glad she did! We were at the Honda Center, where they set up a big screen, and the Munich Orchestra played the soundtrack live with the entire film. It was amazing. I did feel bad, though – I spent a lot of time watching the movie and forgetting about the musicians!
Star Wars on Blu-Ray – I’m torn. On the one hand, I definitely don’t need the films, especially since there’s been yet more revisions to them. On the other hand, 40 hours of bonus features is something I can really get behind. Deleted scenes are my home video kryptonite, truly. And having Star Wars in high-def is something that appeals to me. I should probably just wait for my birthday – the conundrum just may resolve itself! Now, about those Blu-Ray of the Lord of The Rings extended editions!
I started watching the extended editions of the Lord of the Rings films this week with Russell. The recent blu-ray release has gotten me back into it a little bit. I didn’t buy the blu-rays yet, hoping to wait until the price drops, but Russell mentioned that he hadn’t seen them. Any excuse to bring out the dvds! And with another production diary for the Hobbit released yesterday, I’ve been getting a bit antsy for some more theatrical content. Two years away, though – that’s a heart breaker.
