Today was the official opening night of the play. We started late so traffic could clear out from the "state of the County" address going on in the theater next door. Overall, the show went quite well, but our set decoration has been causing some problems. For the entire first act, the floor is covered with a soft linen cloth. People have top walk all over this thing. One scene in particular necessitates a leather pad overlay as two characters wrestle. Maintenance put a new coating on the floor to prevent scuffing, which meant the normally slick sheet moved around a lot more. There was at least one close call, but everyone made it out alive.
