The costume shop people trust me enough now to sew together some mock-up shirts. In case you didn't know (which is likely), mock-ups are pretty much cheaply put together pieces of fabric sewn the same way the normal garment would be. This way, if you mess up, you've only screwed up some crappy piece of muslin instead of an expensive fabric. Mock-up or not, I was still a little nervous putting the damn thing together.
