Justin only had two days to spend here this year, and he spent a lot of Saturday looking for a graphic novel of the Phoenix Saga. Unfortunately, this doesn't really exist. About the only thing that comes close is a Marvel Masterworks collection that covers the issues after Jean Grey pilots the space shuttle back down to Earth. Only I couldn't remember which volume number it was, and the only ones I could find weren't the right issues. I kept telling Justin that Barnes & Nobles exclusively carries the Marvel Masterworks line in paperback format and that he could find it there cheaper than the hardcovers at the con. Eventually the day ends and Justin has to leave empty-handed.
The next day I'm walking around the dealer room with Mai and decide to look at a booth selling a huge amount of disorganized trade paperbacks and hardcovers. Practically the first book I find? The very Marvel Masterworks hardcover title I was searching for the day before. Of course, I bought it for myself, for a price well below retail.
