I have had quite an unorthodox Thanksgiving. Actually, I wasn't even with my family. Mom flew to Detroit to visit Mike on Monday, and dad left on Wednesday. They won't be back until the end of the weekend. Instead, I drove down to San Diego to celebrate Thanksgiving with the family of an AX friend. Brittany had to stay with relatives, but I did manage to sneak Sierra down there.

Most of last night was spent in line waiting for Fry's to open. Most of the time, when I engage in Black Friday sales, I regret the experience enough not to do it for the next few years. This time was a bit odd. We were at a San Diego area Fry's with a relatively small crowd. Many AX people composed our group, and the AV guys set up a tv to run off a car battery and play video games and dvds to pass the time. When the store opened, we pooled our resources to make the most out of getting the items we were looking for - getting into necessary lines, everyone searching for certain items, and sorting out the list when everyone completed their tasks. For the most part, this worked out quite well. I've now got a Blue-Ray player!

And then tonight I attended a gathering of Troy people to celebrate the holiday. This was a group of people from my high school, some of whom I had not seen in seven years. Apparently, it's something of a yearly tradition and this was their best turnout so far. I am happy to have been a part of it.
